Amy Young brings a wide variety of skills to the management team at Craciun Research.
With 20 years experience in marketing, business management and finance, Ms. Young is responsible for the company’s operations and marketing and shares responsibility for client relations, new business and project management.
Her sociological academic training has inspired her business interests toward projects involving indigenous economic development efforts that are altruistic.
She has been involved with fair trade policies and investors with a conscience efforts in developing countries through her work with The Body Shop, Inc. (England based) International retail business focusing on skin and hair care products.
Ms. Young partners her marketing and research expertise with a solid background in banking and finance. She spent her first 8 years in the banking industry and leveraged that knowledge into her own successful business ventures.
In 1993 she invested and partnered with Craciun Research, Alaska’s only full service market research company. She oversees the financial aspects of the company as well as the quantitative division of Craciun Research. Her extensive background in research methods and statistics brings keen insight into today’s most difficult marketing challenges.
In 1996, Ms. Young opened the first Body Shop in Alaska which set a record for opening day sales among all Body Shop stores, both nationally and internationally. She continued to lead the Body Shop Americas in sales for over 15 years.
Because of her varied experience, Ms. Young is comfortable and knowledgeable about all aspects of business, from product development and marketing, to financial management and technical support systems.
As Craciun Research’s Chief Information Officer, Ms. Young has been credited with the creation, development and design of the CRG Communication Portal™, an online collaboration tool, teamware and virtual workplace.
She is the guiding force behind the development and maintenance of both the company’s technological backbone as well as the R&D of new, technology-based research products.
Ms. Young graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with an emphasis on research theory and philosophy. She has taken many advanced courses in market research & statistics, internet marketing, finance, and business management.
